My friend had her car repossessed yesterday and was told that she would have to pay $60 USD to get her things out of the car within the next 3 days and if she didn't get it then, it's an additional $5 each additional day thereafter. Does anyone know if this is legal in the US or if they're just trying to make money off of her?

Its probably legal - someone owns the car and your friends things are in it being stored at the owners cost - she needs to empty the car of her personal belongings as she no longer owns the car.
