Has anyone ever used a private detective. I am becoming very tempted but wouldn't like to use one who was a con. It all seems so dramatic although I suppose people do use them. Thank you

I have a friend who is a private detective, i of course can't speak for them all but he is very good and will explain everything to a potential client before hand, they have a range of charges depending on what you require them for, if you live in herefordshire let me know and i will give you his number. i think you just have to ask them if they can do the job you require and get the cost per hour/day before you agree anything, as for results, well it would be hard to say unless you try them. best of luck.
It's important for you to be confident in the group as well as the individual you use. If you've ever watched Rogue Traders, you'll remember that even with some of the professional companies, there are always a few scallywags who spend their lives taking advantage of the innocent, gullable, and vulnerable.

You 'may' be able to get a validated list of recognised PI's from your local constabulary. Failing that, your local newspaper may be able to assist you.

If your matter is civil, leave a note here and I'll expand on who you may wish to contact.

Good luck

Thank you for the reply. I want to find my dad. I know the area he lives but not exactly where. Nothing in phone book but he is probably ex directory knowing him.
Glen, I agree with sense...certainly this may be the more economical route.

Typically, a 'simple' trace such as this might average circa 150. That's without the detective doing much more than accessing a couple of websites that are accessable to all for a paid subscription...such as TRW, etc.

I wish you every success

Thank you for all replies. Think I will try the cheaper route.
I used this company:

24.99

It was worth the money paying a professional, as my efforts were totaly unsuccessful.

good luck.
