The property rights of a person in actual occupancy differ, depending on the nature of their occupancy. For example, someone renting under an assured shorthold tenancy has different rights from someone renting under an assured tenancy. There are a wide variety of different types of occupancy and hence a variety of rights.

You would need to give a lot more information for a more detailed answer to be given.
