My grandfather was a Greek trader (Lionda) who, having fathered my father in 1917, disappeared! Having searched for years, I have found reference to him through the Google Book Search. The South Africa Law Reports and Supreme Court Decisions for 1944 / 1947 (appeal) show that he was convicted of trading with the enemy (some Manganese was to be imported from Switzerland). The snippets / brief extracts from the books found as a result of the search show only that he was sentenced to........ and whatever I try, I cannot find the rest of the extracts!!! The whole books of Law Reports are only generally available in the southern hemisphere and the SA authorities seem very reluctant to help me.

Anyone any experience with the book search facility and maybe how I can open up the snippets???!!!
