Finding parts for kids bikes

In our nursery we have several purpose built sturdy bikes. These are not the same as you would buy for a single child to use and are avaiable from certain suppliers. Some of our bikes have the cap missing from the wheel hub - which means that the wheels fall off. The wheels are oversized and therefore we cannot get a part from the local bike shop to repair it. Conbtacting the original supplier is no use as they do not do parts - and the bikes come from Sweden. These bikes are common to many nurseries in Britain - due to their sturdy nature - and so there must be thousands languishing without a wheel/seat etc. Any ideas where we can try next . As I say, the supplier is less than helpful.

Have you tried ebay?
is the hub part a metal or plastic part and perhaps a friendly local craftsman could make some replacements? meanwhile what is the name of the manufacturer please? (and i'll do some searching) - what part of the UK are you in?
sorry i meant the cap (which is the missing part) - is this plastic/metal/wood/.....?

Thanks DV & J2 for the answers. I made sure to look at the makers name label before I left on Friday - short term memory loss got the better of me. I only know they are a Swedish firm (Hags? seems to come to mind) but the distributors are english. I have asked other nurseries and they have the same problem with getting small parts like this.
tried "hags toys sweden" in a search engine and got nothing but porn sites. afraid you're going to have to get more detail please :-)
