My son in law is due in court on Monday 16th April on a motoring charge. However, he had a bad accident last night (Thurs) and broke his leg, plus he received other injuries. Can he contact the court today (Fri) and ask for a postponement because of his injuries? If yes, who does he contact? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

if he is using a solicitor first call would be to him/her or if not a call to the court direct should be okay i wouldnt leave it till last minute though and they may wish to see evidence eg a doctors note. hope that helps
as kitty says contact clerk of the court, asap and explain,if they ask for drs letter, then send one,but if you are scamming it,beware because they will investigate.

Thank you. It's not a scam. He phoned this morning and they agreed a postponement of 4 weeks.

He's got concussion and has got to have a scan on Monday. Thanks again.
