I recently signed for a bail for my brother in the amount of 50,000. he skipped bail and now the bail bondsman is threating to take my house. Do they have the right to do that?

unless you stump up the cash they advanced to bail your brother, pretty much yes

That's what bail is! Nice fellow your brother, you owe 50K, simple, and yes they can take any measures to recover.
