Timescale for return of Bond

I recently moved out of rented property, what is the time-scale for the return of the bond...

You should have insisted the landlord check the house/flat with you on the day you left to make sure he/she is satisfied everything is OK and of course to swop meter readings etc. I always insist on doing this with my tenants. I reloease the bond to them either that day after inspection or certainly within a couple of days.

They then should release the bond asap if there is no outstanding rent/cleaning charges etc.

By not having them inspect it with you, you leave it open for them to charge you for something or hold some of it back.
