bullying at work

help! about 3 years ago my works manager was sacked for bullying and racial abuse. the subsequent manager wasn't up to the job and so my boss has recently re-employed the old one. he soon got his feet back under the table and the abuse has started again. he doesn't just pick on the weakest, we all get the same treatment which consists verbal and threatening abuse. it got so bad i filed an official complaint which was swept under the carpet. it calmed down for a while but has now started again. we've been told if we refuse to work for him we'll all get the sack, does anyone know what we should do or what rights we have? thanks

are you in a union?
The key to this problem regardless if your in a union or not is for you and your colleagues to be singing from the same hymn sheet. make your complaints official and documentised you cant just have "little chats" the second they sack any of you for being disruptive or refusing to co-operate take them to an industrial tribunal. (although this may take some time as there seems to be loads at the moment) also please seek legal advice as officially theres no such thing as bullying at work, they have to call it something else (i cant remember what, its been a while since i studied lol) but ive seen people win tens of thousands in compensation.
