becoming a maths tutor
In order to become a 'recognised' maths tutor, do i need to be almost as qualified as a normal teacher? What i really mean is, if i want to have a qualification that says that im a competent and reliable tutor, which teaching course do i have to take to get it?
p.s. i already have a degree in Geophysics.

Its unclear whether you are in the UK or US. In the UK if you want to become recognised you could consider Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or PGCE which in both cases is a one year course. Here you would be put on trial in placement form in schools, secondary or otherwise level to test your ability of becoming a teacher. Unfortunately Im not aware of any other way of being "recognised" as a maths tutor.
