my sister has been harrassed by her ex and she has reported him to the police, today she had a message on her voice mail from the law saying he has been served with an harrassment charge whats it mean ??

She needs to telephone the officer in charge - s/he will give her all the information she needs.

I suspect that what he has been served with is a harassment notice - if he contacts her again he could be prosecuted under the Protection from Harassment Act
Simply, he cannot harrass her.
