I dont think youd be able to find out. Why not just report them and say that you think they are claiming.
If theyre not then they will never know that you called. if they are then I hope that its sorted and that any moneys claimed falsely are returned.

Hi redcrx.Yes I guess so,just didn't want to call incase im wrong (even though deep down I know im not).

Just gets me so cross when people do this!
you and me both. If you are that certain then report them, i would.
If you report them, and they are not, then no harm done.

I too hate people who are stealing my money.

Well the CSA (not me for a change!!) have rang this persons ex wife and said that they have calculated he isnt entitled to pay her anything as he doesn't earn enough andis on benefits, yet he is self employed and has several sfatt working for him!!
definately report him then. If hes got a company then he can pay for his kids. I dont see why hard working individuals in the country should forgo having children because they pay so much tax to pay for people like him.
Whistleblowers Hotline - Tel 0870 241 3169 (think this is the one you need)

National Benefit Fraud Hotline Tel 0800 854440

Both are confidential and you will not be asked to give your name (I don't think)

thanks flip flop - I will do that now!!
PinkFizz,
You are taking the correct action even though you only suspect this person to be guilty of fraud.
Once you have reported your suspicions the authorities will be quick to investigate and then take action (which may be a lengthy process) as appropriate.

You are to be applauded. It's a shame that more of us don't report fraudsters who are diverting money and resources from where they are genuinely required.

I have just rang and reported this guy for alleged benefit fraud. They were very good and took all the details for him but did't ask for any of mine.I feel better now!
You also could consider that he may not only be committing Benefit Fraud, but if he is Self Employed and Employing Staff he may not be Paying PAYE, Tax and National Insurance Contributions to HM Revenue & Customs!!

Best to Report because, as said, if they are not committing Fraud then no harm done!!
Report them, if they're doing nothing wrong, then what's the worry?

If they have their own business they may be evading tax and Vat also. Visit:

You don't have to leave your name or details, and you can do it on-line or ring up.
