Im getting married next year adn am worried that i will take on my girlfriends bad credit problems once we are married, do you know if this is true or is credit based on the individual? cheers

credit decisions are based on individuals AND their partners (ie girlfriends, wives,) if an 'assocaition' is made.

An association is made when applying for anything from a loan or mortgage through to having your utility bills in both names.

You will not be liable for any of her previous debts, but you may find it slightly harder to get credit in the future.
watch out, once this bitch has sunk her bloodsucking fangs into you and bled you dry she'll spit you out and move on to the next love hungry fool who'll fall for her manipulative self serving ways. How many partners has she had previous and how many are now bankrupt, missing or buried?
How did your girlfriend's bad credit problems arise? Was it through misfortune or is she a serial big spender?
I think it's important for you to ask yourself this question and be sure of the answer before you sign on the dotted line,. If she has a really bad record of dealing with her finances and spending money, are you totally sure what you are taking on?
im sure there is a way of you being able to seperate your credit rating from you future wifes. i remember once being advised it was best. i went to the C.A.B but as our credit rating was good as individuals there wasnt a problem so didnt follow it through
