Thankyou to those who responded to my last question, the information was very useful. However I have discovered that since I live in Scotland the process involves a trust deed which is slightly diferent from an iva. My only concern now is whether having a trust deed will stop me furthering my career. I have a degree in Accountancy which means I dont think I can become an accountant because of a trust deed but will it ruin my chances of other jobs in the future?

Might I suggest that you change website to www.fool.co.uk and take a look at the Dealing with Debt discussion board. There are loads of experts on there who could give you the info you need, particularly a guy called Kronos. He is an expert on bankruptcy, trust deeds etc.

Best of luck

You will not necessarily be prevented from becoming an accountant or working in that field. See: http://www.trust-deed...pic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1373
