Zacs-Master - “I see the OP has had the sense to stay out of his own fekkwhit post..”
Thanks Zacs for that post. I can't help but notice that you completely and utterly fail to address the central point of the argument. You call it a “fekkwhit” post without giving a single reason why you feel that my question is unjustified or inappropriate given the current situation. You posit no answers or suggestions to the problem.
Your response is just a simple, cretinous, “Ad Hominem” - an attack on the person, rather than the argument(s).
If you would try to engage your brain for a few moments, you would see that the Corona virus lock-down mimics the world promised by the 'Greens' – an ideological Eutopia in that there are no domestic nor international flights and limited local transportation, no CCGT power stations, no Coal, no Nuclear, no reliable, dispatchable, 24/7 power – just intermittent, unreliable wind and solar. Wonderful – a zero carbon ('carbon' being the go-to phrase for the scientifically illiterate, when what we're actually talking about is Carbon Dioxide – which is as different from Carbon as water is from Hydrogen) world that simply doesn't and cannot function.
I presume that you – Zacs-Master – are using the internet? It's a rhetorical question, I know. Are you aware that you can only access the internet because of fossil fuels? If the internet relied on intermittent wind and solar, you'd only be able to access the internet when the wind and the rotation of the Earth allowed you to do so?
Do you understand what 'base load' means? Do you understand that wind and solar cannot run an aluminium or steel smelting plant and why? Do you understand that CO2 is only 0.04% of our atmosphere and that the anthropogenic proportion of that is only around 4%? Can you tell me what the climate sensitivity to anthropogenic CO2 is? Do you know what this means? And if so, can you give me a figure and support that figure with links to published scientistic literature?
