pinpoint exactly where our major or some minor cities are,
i confess that I can't. I know a few but pondered this when looking
at the weather broadcasts.

For me, Geography was almost as boring a subject as Algebra at school. I learned nothing of either though i can point to a map of England and roughly point out where certain places are. That's down to having driven to many of them at one time or another. On a map of Europe, i do know that France is opposite us and that Italy is shaped like a leg with a high-heeled boot...

Could probably have a good stab at the major Scottish cities but that's about it.
Question Author
its just a slight question, but i think that many don't know the location of many of our cities.
Question Author
maggie, ah i can see where Edinburgh is roughly
but as to the rest don't know..
Yes, I could.
Question Author
hc thats good, because when i see the weather map on tv it doesn't place Liverpool, which to me is odd.
Where do you live, emmie? I bet if you lived near Liverpool it would be on the local weather forecast. There are lots of cities that are never on the national weather maps probably because there are too many to choose from :)
It's quite easy to get lost in Scotland ;-) Imagine being lost in Wales, they can't spell them lot.

I can pinpoint most major cities and towns if asked but being honest geography was never my strongest point... and still isn't.

hc in the capital,
Could place most of the English cities, less in Wales and Scotland.
Question Author
i did pick out Cardiff, but got lost in some well known places.
We sometimes get map/geography round in our pub quiz, and I am pretty good at those.
The last one was American States which was hard, didn’t do too well on that.
I struggle recognising the shapes of countries & counties. Our own cities? I might be able to get near-ish to a few, but that's general knowledge, not experience.

Geography - bleurgh...
