Try asking in home and garden.

What difference would a sceptic tank make anyway, to the way you clean your shower screen?

@ jan bug, everything that would go into a sewer goes into my sceptic tank!  I only want to know if the chemicals in cillet bang can 'kill' my tank.

Oh I see. HCW - I still think you'll have more luck in Home and Garden!  Perhaps you''ve already re-asked there! :-)  If the bottle doesn't say "do not use with a sceptic tank" you ought to be ok, or perhaps such warnings are rare.  Happy cleaning anyway.  I'm off to cillit bang the shower cubicle!

flashpig - what?!  Who is Barry Scott?

Dont use it.  Its to strong, when I used it, it made my sink leak, so I threw it away.

@ jan bug, thanks.  I'm a first time user on this site which is more than likely why I posted this question here instead of checking around the site.  Thanks again, .... and good luck with the shower cubicle.:-)

Cheers.  Welcome to the site, and enjoy! And don't worry about posting in the wrong place... happens to all of us at one time or another! :-)

What was the sink made of... paper!?!  Sorry to hear of a bad experience, but it's been fine for us on glass.

@ in a pickle, we tried stuff like coca/pepsi cola down the toilet in the past which seemed to work,  I don't know if you've tried that.  We do have a soakaway, which is why I'm a little dubious about some of the manufacturers claims.  Thanks everyone for your replies.

HCW Welcome to the site. We have a septic tank here in NZ and we tend to avoid anything that is antiseptic and use germicidle (sp?) products that won't harm the "good germs" that you need in the tank to break down the waste. Hope this helps!
