They have now bought a dog which stops me from going through with my bins. Its getting pretty stressfull for me now because the dog is constantly barking and scares me and is exactly near the gate which I have right to use. Where do I stand? They also have created steps now which make it difficult for me to drag up a full bin!

Phleb, If I was in your situation I would do one of two things. If you rent see your landlord. If you own see a solicitor.

Bednobs I think you are being totally unreasonable to the OP.
This is all to do with the modern idea of 'privacy', we expect our back gardens to be a private space. But older houses were not designed in this 'mode' (apart from large detached houses)
Look at some of the 'Related questions' below to get an idea of the problem.
Unfortunately as has been said there is nothing you can do about the situation, if you rent or buy such a house you have to live with it, you get what you pay for and this type house is cheaper just because of this arrangement.

Thank you all.
To put another idea into the pot... is it possible if ALL owners are in agreement to move the row further up to the end of the garden?

If the gardens are ginormous then loosing a meter or two at the end won't make much difference to the overall look/feel of the gardens and everyone will get more privacey rather than having everyone tooping past your back windows!?
Does any one know if my Neighbours can have visitors use the right of way across my driveway?
I have the same problem. My neighbour and I have to go through the house on the end who only moved in 3 years ago. They have since put up 3 extra fences with gates but the 1st gate we have to go through, their patio door steps stick put too far and I struggle to get bins out. I asked before they put up the fence to have the gate along a bit for our access but they didn't because of this my neighbour and I put our bins around the front but this is an eyesore to our properties. After losing my husband two years ago I put up with it until they burst another football of my daughters two weeks ago. She plays for our local team and they have burst numerous balls over the years because they accidentally went over their 6 foot fence? After this occasion I put my bins back around the house as I had, had enough of being friendly to someone who could not just through the ball back over? They say she does this on purpose to tease their dogs. Me being a dog owner too knows my daughter wouldn't do that. It got to the stage my daughter won't play in the garden till am home. It is our right to walk thru the garden as we are mid terraced and should not need to ask permission!!
