I have some sugar tongs with the following hallmark, "A.W.M.S. AF"

Can anyone tell me what these marks mean.

I think that's a makers mark, not a hallmark which means they are plate, not silver

Thanks itch ought they were plate but would still like to know what the initials stand for.

Could what you have be of French origin? The "AF" meaning argent feminine: silver plated.
