On a Royal theme again, can anyone advise why Prince Edward, on the palace balcony last weekend, was wearing full dress uniform, which appeared to be that of the Royal Marines?  I had thought that as a failed officer cadet, he would have disqualified himself from that pretence.  Many old soldiers, who went through the full rigours of training, and then fought in the War, will have been surprised, if not disgusted, at another "royal creep-up on you"!  The media made no comment on this.

Although the Earl of Wessex resigned his commission from the Royal Marines in 1987 he does get to prance around in the uniforms of his Royal Military Appointments.

He is Royal Honorary Colonel, Royal Wessex Yeomanry as well as being Colonel-in-Chief to 2 Canadian regiments; The Saskatchewan Dragoons along with The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment.

Did you see Anne Robinson's programme on BBC 1 yesterday? (Medals worn by Prince Charles and Edward).  It's a joke!
