My village hall is a charity and the sale of its assets is determined by its governance document which states:

the decision to sell is confirmed by a resolution passed at a Special General Meeting

A special general meeting (SGM) passed a resolution:

that the Trustees sell their freehold interest in the land subject to a sale price being agreed that is within the parameters laid down for us in the recent independent surveyors valuation

Once the Trustees have voted to sell the land is it necessary to hold another SGM to confirm the decision?

No.

Providing the SGM was quarat with the minimum number of ordinary members and trustees present then that gives the trustees permission to sell (at a reasonable price). And of course with the chairy commission rues adhered toi as well.

However ((( Once the Trustees have voted to sell the land is it necessary to hold another SGM to confirm the decision? )))) The resolution for the trustees to sell the land has already taken place so what is another sgm for?
