We had our water bill yesterday and our direct debit payment has risen from £27.00 per month to £41.00 per month.

I blame my husband for his over enthusiastic use of our newly purchased Karcher pressure washer. He loves it. Anything that can get blasted gets blasted. Is it all his fault?

Manneken Pis has nothing on him.

Blimey, tilly, is that incoming water as well as the foul water services? Ours costs £22 a month for both, and we're on a meter.
Flippin' heck!!! I pay £12 per month and I'm in credit!!!
Don't worry Tilly, he will grow out of it, it gets boring after a while.

I know, it's horrendous. Maybe we have a leak. Oh, flippin' eck!
worth asking them to check, tilly. Some years ago the water bods checked my "incoming flow" and I had an underground leak, 3 bathsful an hour were seeping into the ground.

Did they have to dig up your garden, Boxy?
Made me think Tilly. Mine has just risen from £20 to £32 per month...metered.
Only one person here too. Will check now. Thanks. x
unfortunately it was beside my boiler in a back outhouse, tilly - but in principle, yes. They came in, made sure all my appliances were off, then checked the incoming flow from the road and they could see it gushing into my house - I don't remember exactly how they knew where the leak was (I suspect they had a handy device to hear the water) but they pinpointed it.

I'm just going out to read the meter. Need to keep tabs on it. Will put the Karcher on ebay!

He did the drive with it last week. What a mess. You should have seen my downstairs windows. They were covered in splashes of mud. He thought he'd done a good job of the drive until I pointed to the windows, the front door, the garage doors and the front wall. Honestly. Perhaps I should put him on ebay instead.
.. or put your drive on eBay "for sale clean, one careful owner"
How much are you going to ask for him Tilly? Just out of interest. ;-)
.. wait 'til next week, it'll be free listing, LOL
Question Author
Gness, 2p. Buy it now.
Karcher washers use very little water, a lot less than the average shower.
I have done that myself Tilly ( the drive ) had to power wash the front of the house after, windows and everything.
Deal done Tilly. Thank you. :-) x
Question Author
He's Irish, gness. Do you still want him?
Irish!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!! Hell Tilly put the price up!
Question Author
20p then, and I throw in the shillelagh.
Don't throw it near the windows, tilly....
