Is it also legal for political campaigners to place stickers
on children eg. 'vote Labour' without parents permission?

This is what happened outside my daughter's primary school!

I'd have thought there wouldn't be a specific ban, not that I'd know. But I don't see the advantage of doing so. Kids can't vote and won't take notice. Might like the "badge" but that's about it. And I'm unconvinced they'd sway many parents. Probably sway them to the opposition if anything.
Makes a good news story. Legal or not,and I suspect it is, it's not appropriate behaviour, turning kids into walking adverts for the Party. Bet the Mail would like it and so will the local press. It would certainly annoy me, whatever party was responsible. What explanation has the Party got for it?
It's probably not illegal as it is happening outside of school, but Catholic schools have been informed recently that they are breaking the law by getting children to campaign against the proposed same sex marriage legislation as this is a political issue !

Apparently, our local council allowed it. I contacted a local paper who ran the story. The repsonse from the council an campaigners was in my opinion very shocking. They didn't see that they'd done anything wrong! They said they hadn't broken any laws or electoral rules. The school had not given permission for this. The police have also been informed.
I can't see how anyone would think this to be an ok form of canvassing. Children as young as three had 'vote Labour' stickers placed on them without them asking parents first.

I am furious about the whole thing and have applied for an e-petition. I am currently planning my next course of action as I am not just going to drop this and letthem sweep it under the carpet!!
