Hi,

I am being prosecuted for a section 20. It has been referred to crown court on a 'no indication' plea that i made during the first hearing.

There are lots of mitigating factors and i genuinely acted in self defence and will be making a 'not guilty' under self defence plea.

The court have recieved my legal aid form but have replied saying that i must pay £870 per month for 6 months after the committal hearing. The thing is after my mortgage i do seem to have a lot of disposable income however i have approx £600 in credit fees i must pay, that doesn't include petrol, electric, food, child care, etcetcetc.

I feel like i am at my wits end, i have never been in trouble before, i am 30 years old and have paid privately for my magistrates hearing etc.

Please could someone shed some light on what i should be expected to pay? Or what am i best to do at this stage.

Thanks in advance guys,

David
