Can the PPS or police hack your phone without your knowledge?

Can the PPS or police hack your phone legally without your knowledge and if so can it be used in court as evidence? eg can they record conversation you had about a case?

There *are* certain circumstances that would allow the police to gain the requisite permissions to 'hack' your 'phone/internet, etc.

But these are usually limited to major crimes or criminality.

What do you think has happened?

My solicitor can't understand why the PPS are pursuing me in court when they have no evidence apart from 1 witness statement from a guy that lives in Australia now. They are paying for his return flight to attend court when the case is very weak.
I can't understand it either unless they have some evidence that they are not showing?

The CPS cannot 'surprise' you or your legal team in court with evidence they have not made available for your consideration prior to the trial.

I notice you have referred to the PPS on a number of your earlier threads. I just wante dto check that you are in the UK and do mean the CPS

PPS = Public Prosecution Service Northern Ireland, same as CPS.

I believe they can hack your phone, but only with Home Office blessing....

CPS / PPS have targets to meet just like any other organisation these days, so unless they are reasonably certain of a conviction, they will not (usually) pursue the matter trial...

Home Office .. High Court .. etc .. Has to be pretty damn serious for that to happen.
