I am not allowed to get locks changed on the marital home but my husband is returning on a daily asis whilst I am at work and systematically removing all of our possessions without consent. Is this burglary and can I stop it?

Is the house in both names? Is he removing stuff that belongs to him?
just because they are no longer in the marital home does not mean they aren't still part owned by you, keep a record of the items and try to find the original reciepts or similar proof that they were there. I would take some pictures of your home before he gets away with anything else.

The house is in both names yes and will be subject to divorce settlement. However he moved out at the weekend but is returning and tking things without agreement eg all tv's, videos, all towels, crockery..even the telephone and wiring! Clearly I can't replace anything as he will most probably take that too and so the kids are having to go without basic essentials. I don't have money to replace everything from a teaspoon through to a microwave. He also isn't necessarily entitled to all of this unlesshe courts deem so in the future. Surely this could count as theft? Really desperate - not sure whether to call police?
id call into the local station and ask, cant hurt can it
I would call them
Have you got a solicitor yet? If so call them pronto.
It never ceases to amaze me how mean men can get when in a divorce situation, I'm sorry for your predicament. (and I know women can be too before anyone picks up on that)
Call the police. He can't touch anything until divorce is sorted
you could lose your house keys of course and have to have the locks changed ;-)
I'm inclined to agree with OJ..lose the keys..change the lock!
As above please get a quote from different locksmiths as some can be very expensive also remember to have a strong bolt on back door if he has a key for that door.
You can pick up strong bolts from any hardware shop B&Q etc very cheap.
No he can't do that. The property remains jointly owned until you both decide how the stuff is divvied up. If he took half the towels, that would be OK, but not all of them, and he certainly shouldn't leave you without basic necessities. Have you got a solicitor for your divorce? - if so don't waste time, tell the solicitor now. Who says you are not allowed to change the locks?
