My son has been charged and has to appear in court for buying and supplying minors with alcohol, he actually bought alcohol for the mother of the minor and police were informed this at the time of questioning and charging him.Can anyone please advise next steps?

The mother called him on his mobile and asked him to get her the alcohol which he did took to her house, she then said her daughter and friend stole it from house they were later caught in street by police with alcohol and asked where they caught it in which they gave my son's name, we live in Scotland.
Mother was willing to tell police it was bought for her however police never went near her for statement

then you'd better get one from her yourself. You should be seeing a lawyer about this, but it sounds like he has a perfectly good defence: he didn't do it.
The law in England has been tightened up so much that a mother was warned, but not cautioned or charged for getting her young daughter to put a bottle of wine in the mothers trolley because she was carring a baby at the time.

Some supermarkers will not let people who are accompanied by anyone under 18 from buying alcohol.
