Before you worry about R v Hickman, deborah, perhaps you'd care to brush up on your spelling and grammar!
I should think that even in these enlightened times, somebody studying law should be able to compose a short question without six or seven spelling, grammatical or typographical errors.
Yes, I know �...in a hurry�, �...spelling/grammar/typing not my strong point� etc. You may well pass your exams, but you are unlikely to get a job!
Sorry to be tetchy, but I�m eagerly awaiting today�s �O� Level examination results, where I will be told that 99.9% of entrants passed, most of them with the highest grades available and that it is all down to superior teaching, increased government funding and pupils (grandly entitled �students�) working so much harder than those fifty years ago.

I agree with Ethel! Clients like to see that their lawyer is at least literate.
You are looking for a case that is reported in 2001 in the second volume of the Criminal Appeal (Sentencing) Reports at page 261. Try phoning your library to see if they can get you a copy. Otherwise, do you not have access to a law library seeing as you are studying law?
It's not available in any of the legal databases to which I subscribe, so you will have to go direct to the reports or to the website run by the report publisher.

Thanks for your comment, although i would like to inform you that i currently practice as a oncology consultant and i only have a personal interest in law.
As for the comment concerning my grammar, i would like to point out that in my present role i am more concerned with providing quality end of life care in terminal illness.
So when you point out that i am unlikely to gain employment within a the law setting, then I am happy not to, if it means working alongside such rude attitudes.
