Getting old case notes

does anyone know if you can obtain case notes from an old court case going back 30 years .

No, they'll be destroyed aftersix years usually - unless its a serious unsolved crime
It is sometimes possible to get case notes. I have looked at many old case notes for a book that I am writing and some of them are over 100 years old. Your best bet is to contact the court where the trial took place. The notes may have been transferred to microfiche so that you could look at them. I found loads online at the Old Bailey website so it is worth doing a bit of digging.
