I'm booked to go to the US on the 1st May for 2 weeks but was caught last night being 1.5 units over the limit. I've been given a court date of May 7th. My questions are will I be able to put my court date back? and will I still be able to enter America even though not convicted?

I cannot answer with any authority, but I remember this question was asked some time ago. One person said that a conviction for drink-driving is not counted as " moral turpitude", and escapes a ban on entry.
Doubtless others will be answering your query.
The US embassy website states that persons who have been arrested or convicted of an offence are exempt from the visa waiver programme and need to apply for a visa to enter the USA. The recent answer gave the advice that if you do not copnsider drink driving as moral turpitude you can answer the entry form in the negative. Another answer stated that there is no way that the US border authorities would find out that you had been arrested or convicted.

The choice is yours!!

The above website gives the official advice
In answer to your first question, I'm sure you will be able to put your court case back for something like a family holiday (although I don't know for sure) so get in touch with them first and if they do put it back, then you don't need to worry about your second question.
do not worry about getting a visa for this, just fill out the forms as normal on the plane and tick no to any convictions etc. Before we knew about this site, my hubby got a visa for exactly the same thing and when he was asked what the visa was for at immigration they couldn't believe he had one for that and thought he had done time or something much more serious. It is a complete money making scam and they certainly robbed us not to mention the day off work unpaid for us both and the extortionate train fare to London. You will be fine, do not worry
I was done for DUI 4 years ago and I have been to the US twice since then under the waiver system. US immigration have no access to British criminal records whatsoever
Exactly as bullpen says, US customs have NO direct access to UK records so unless you are on the FBI most wanted listed you have nothing to worry about.
