Went to court, the main witness was out of the jurisdiction so the PPS had no choice but cancel the contested hearing. The Magistrate granted me legal aid because of this, not sure why but not complaining. Now the PPS has to investigate how long the witness will be out of the country for and decide what to do from there. Is there a time limit for when the PPS has to make this decision? Because the witness never turned up, does this weaken his creditability?

Hi Mike

Did the magistrate/s not set a date for the PPS to complete their enquiries and give you a new bail date??.

Hi Exdc,
I received a letter in the post on Saturday, saying the PPS have reason to believe the key witness MAY return and the contested hearing date is now set for the middle of August.
This whole think will have went on for more than 2 and half years by then.
Hi

I am afraid you will just have to wait and see what happens but at least you now have a date set etc.
Any updates on your case mate?
