Does anyone know if there is something that can be done regards my partners post being opened by his ex partner.

He has been moved from the property for 3 yrs and anything and everything we know of has had a change of address with the relevant companies .... today he has received some post in respect of a tax bill from an old company he used to have. This details some personal information that he would have preferred her not to see. We are unsure why this letter has been delivered to his old address as even his old business "contact address" was changed to our new address.

Anyhow, he is fuming at her for not passing this letter on "months" ago as this now creates an even bigger problem for him.

Can anyone advise?

Have you tried getting the Post Office to re-direct his mail ?
I don't know what he can do to stop her opening the post other than suggest he set up a post re-diversion so even any unexpected or forgotten contacts will get to the right place.
Opening post not addressed to you is a crime, he should ring the police. She however will probably claim that she couldn't see the name or that it was opened in error etc, arn't exes great!
Not a crime. Until delivery it is but once through the door, if correctly addressed, it becomes a personal issue.
Hello. I am unused to this website and you have rightly chastised me over "cockle". Perhaps you could send me an idiot's guide! To answer your problem I suggest that you contact the Post Office and take out their mail forwarding service (I think it lasts a year) to your new address. I also suggest that you sign up to the Mail Preference Service although probably not strictly necessary. Good luck. landon3
Dont bother if he has a difficult ex partner he will always have one and the more fuss that is made over an incident the more they will do if given the chance.
From what you say everything has been changed and this was an accidental one off.
