stopping our xmas bonus

We recently informed our employer as from the 01/04/09 we would be entitled to an extra 5 days paid annual leave, at the moment we get 15 days plus 8 stat. days we should now recieve 28 days to which he has agreed. but now he is saying he cannot give us our xmas bonus. He has been giving it to us for about 6years and i was wondering can he do this,or could anyone enlighten me on this situation.
