how to connect to internet

l have no landline but l have a broadband connection with virginmedia is there anyone else l can get this service from without landline, also they sent me a usb wireless netgear for laptop but l have not been able to make a wireless connection am l doing something wrong my laptop is hp model g5056ea

Without a landline your only viable option is mobile broadband which will be a lot slower than your Virgin broadband.
I don't know why you can't connect to your router. Have you got the wifi switched on your laptop? Have you followed all the instructions?
