My husband & me have often eaten prawn sandwiches from M&S. Can't say we've ever had a problem afterwards.

You could try phoning M&S, but they may give you some vouchers for more sandwiches! lol

Hope your tummy ache gets better soon.

If you had a 'bad' prawn you would be sick within 3 or 4 hours.

I am allergic to prawns and so cannot eat them, but i kn ow what you mean about knwoing what upsets your stomach, i always know what makes me ill if it is food. I am funny with onions actually, don't know why.
I think that thinking about prawns would make you feel ill if your stomach was already upset.

I don't eat shellfish, but all I have to do is think about what prawns eat, and I can feel sick very easily!
Prawns are about the only shellfishy things I try not to think about their way of life too much, otherwise I'd be totally put off!

However, watching people eating cockles, whelks, winkles & jellied eels, really do make me gag!

That's what the above was supposed to have read, but it didn't - probably 'cos my hands are too cold after clearing the fish pond of algae!!!!! ;o}
Oooh, I love cockles and winkles and whelks, Smudge. In vinegar of course. (Actually I love vinegar so perhaps that's why I like cockles, etc.)

As for jellied eels, I tried some once - never again!!!!

I used to really enjoy cockles & winkles too when I was a young girl Lottie.

Mum used to take me to the local market nearly every Saturday & I always had either cockles or winkles & Mum had jellied eels - yuk!

The reason I went off cockles, was because I crunched some grit & didn't like that!

The reason I went off winkles, was because my little friend knocked on our front door & asked if I'd like a winkle. She opened her hand & there is was - this 'orrible little slimey thing out of its shell! Now if she'd have offered me one still in its shell I wouldn't have minded! lol
Never attempted to try whelks though - they look really gross! ;o}
My husband eats anything that comes out of the sea - well neary everything!
I am sorry but inspection/statistics for, food in supermarkets (including M&S) shows:~
Food retailers are usually very careful and check (often) the food that they are selling for temeperature and sell by dates.
The research found out that once the food was sold the problems arose.
Customers did not take the food quickly enough to a chilled area(refrigerator) and indeed often left things like sandwiches in drawers or on desks at work for several hours.
The research came to the conclusion that it was the consumer NOT the retailer that was(principally) to blame for any possible contamination/infection/illness.
Retailers are trained in food hygiene control, consumers are not.
Maybe they should be!

Wow! Do you have shares in m&s? I dont leave sandwiches in drawers. I eat them practicaly before I leave the shop. I leave sausage rolls in drawers then I throw them out the window.
How about customers who take a sandwich out of the chiller then decided after half an hour or so they don't want it and dump it?

I've seen things put back in gthe chiller from other shelves and the staff have no idea how long they've been there
