I was in a minor car accident a few weeks ago. It was my fault i hit the car in front of me and left a 3 inch scratch on his bumper. We didnt know what to do so we called the police and he said that it was very minor and he suggested that we settle it privately because it was probably not worth more than $100 in damages. We both signed a paper saying that no report was going to be filed. I gave them $100 dollars and my name and phone number. 3 weeks later they called me back saying that it was going to cost them $600 to paint the entire bumper. Am I obligated to pay the other $500?? help
