My uncle has not made a will and has alzheimers bad so he cant make one now. I have been his carer for 4 years now and i have lived with him all my life he only has his house to leave when he passes away, me and my sister are his only family he has left. What will happen when he dies will my sister and i both get half shares in his house? and would i have to raise by law the value of half the house to pay my sister her share of our uncles house in order for me to continue to live there?

Has he got any children? A wife? I think they would get his house if he has.
Ignore that, I didn't read it properly and have just realised that you and your sister are his only family!
Yes - you and your sister inherit half each. If you want to live in the house you will have to buy out your sister's share unless she is willing to treat it as an investment.
Hi diane 118
As your uncle has Alzheimers and unable to make a will, it may be a good idea for you and your Sister to apply to the courts for
for Guardianship. Speak to a Solicitor and he will guide you in the right direction.
fingers crossed you will beable to cope with this illness and look after your uncle by yourself till the end. Have you looked into how much care patience etc that maybe required for your uncle and are you alone experienced and capable to do this alone?? I dont want to sound negative and wish you all the luck in the world, but insome cases property is sold to pay for care that is required so just double check everything now so your aware and prepared. xxx
