are marriages in barbados under english law?

my father married his partner in barbados a few years ago and i was wondering if she would get half the share of his wealth if they got divorced. he lives in south africa, if this makes a difference?

If he lives in SA and divorces in SA, English law won't come in to the equation at all.

The marriage is legally valid and recognised as a legal marriage in the UK.

But if they are resident in SA if and when they divorce, the South African divorce laws shall apply.
