My son has his own car but is also insured for mine. He was involved in an accident and my car which he was driving is a write off and the other quite badly damaged. Will this claim affect his policy when he goes to re-insure his own car. Also how much will we get, it is an 11 year old Fiesta.

he will be asked if he has had any accident in the last 3/ 5 yrs, on the form,if he does not disclose it and they find out, his insurance will be invalid,if he makes a future claim, your car is not worth a lot, maybe 500

An eleven year old Fiesta is worth about a tenner provided it has a good set of boots a full tank and years MoT. Norman, will I give you first refusal on my old bangers ? You are a man I would like to deal with !! lol
