fibre optic work offshore

my friend is an engineer installing and repairing fibre optic cables for bt - he's wanting to do similar work offshore but is struggling to find anything (google etc) - does anyone know of any uk companies that he could look up or contact or have any advice on where to go from here ? many thanks.

He can't even be considered for work on oil rigs unless he's gone through the BOSIET course. (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training). It's a statutory requirement.

Employers don't normally pay for BOSIET courses. They expect potential employees to have gone through the training, at their own expense, before they can be considered for employment. The course costs £600 (plus VAT = £720 total) with this provider:

thanks buenchico il pass the link on - he's already completed the bosiet course and passed the offshore medical.
