I always dress smart for work and wish we had a more casual dress code.

I dont work, but at my old place, I always wore black trousers and jumper, even in summer because of air con. Always old clothes nothing I'd wear in my personal life. No make up, only sat behind a desk, why bother.
You can wear whatever you like at our place haysi - and it shows! Most of the men look like trainspotters and the females look like they're working the streets! Awful! Don't expect everyone to power dress - but perlease!
I work at home. I can sit in my undies if I feel like it.

=0)

(if I go out for meetings, I wear a "power suit")
I wear my uniform, hopefully reasonably smart, black trousers and white tunic jacket. My uniform isn't really company policy, more of a necessity for health care, cross infection etc.
LOL lardy! we used to wear whatever we want ( designers can get away with it) but now working from home so could be in PJs most days.

I would LOVE to go to work in my PJs! :P
It's good to take pride in your appearance at work! I think teachers should have a dress code jackt tie for men smart suit for women some teachers look as if they have just rolled out of bed sloppy and unkempt need to set an example! I worked in the public sector and always dressed smartly some other colleagues appeared in T Shirts and jeans wasn't appropriate. There is always time to dress as you please after work!
If I am "out" - it's always a smart black suit and heels. If I am "in", anything goes.
Good grief oscarina, it's the 21st century.

I must admit that when I was younger I was a wee bit "punky" with shaved spikey hair, black clothes and makeup etc. Caused a wee bit of a stir at work lol
like jj i work at home and can wear what i like :)
Hi Haysi.

As I work in a Sports Shop I have to wear the uniform provided, but, it's f*&king horrible. I'd rather be wearing a looser fit t-shirt (Preferably Polyester to Cotton) and a baggier pair of jogging bottoms. They're going to change soon but not for the better :-|

soooo jealous of those of you who work at home.

Hi Judge....are they changing to shorts ;)
Yer jokin' aren't ya!!! Shorts??? They gave us shorts last year and we wore them up to September, but, when this new edict came down from on high it stated that shorts would NOT be worn as some people don't have the legs for them - I kid ye not.....
Question Author
Och I'm sure yer legs are fine lol, During the hotter weather (it's been peeing it down here for the last few days) you see some sights at my work and it's not just the ladies wearing short shorts....ewwwww
Always smartly dressed for work and I have work clothes and my out of work clothes. I would not wear what I do to work outside of it as it's just not me. Equally, I don't like to bring 'me' in to work, I'm there to do a job, be professional, quick and efficient and I think what I wear should reflect that professionalism... If I turned up in flip flops and my summer dresses or jeans, I'd probably have a completely different attitude and be far too relaxed!
I'm retired from the Civil Service now, but I always had to be smartish, skirt, blouse or jumper, and a suits for Directors meetings, going away on courses or Public Inquiries/Public meetings etc. The younger staff were a bit more laid back.
I wear a tailored suit and shirt blouse, trousers or skirts, it depends on what I am doing that day and so I buy matching skirts to all my suits. I would prefer to wear more casal and fashionable clothes but it has to be business dress.
semi smart bascs for work but with my own little touches, odd scarves, or jewellery and tend to have slightly eccentric hair colours but in conventional ish styles, ... wore suit/blouse uniform when bed managing but I got to pick it myself as I was working on my own... Have worked in an office with dress down fridays.... nooooo gentlemen over 50 probably should not come to work in combats and tees unless they still spend a few hours a week at the gym....Was good for the girls in sales though..... te men were a lot younger and very appearance orientrated.... think diet coke break when the lads got into work...
I vary my work clothes according to what I am doing. I went to meetings over the last 2 days so was a bit more "dressy" than I will be today, when I am working from base and have no visitors due. In this hot weather we are being a bit more relaxed as the offices are warm (big windows, old property, no a/c). However - no bare midriffs please, not from either sex!
