i've been told that you don't need any qualifications to be a policeman. How's that then?

That is correct, but you will need a good standard of education to pass their PIR test. which is an english based test with a few maths questions thrown in. Irrespective of what qualifications you have if you dont pass this test, you dont get to progress in the recruitment process. If you are intending to go through t this process I would recommend that you "brush up", on the standard of your english first.
i have been accepted for the police and i have no qualifications, i think also depending on your age life experiences help you through too.
You have to have near perfect eyesight also.

check out www.policecouldyou.co.uk for all entry requirements and local force vacancies.

hello , of course you need qualifacations , you need to go to university and study law and other things , a close relative of mine is a police man , and i no he definetly studied before he qualified , who on earth told you that then?

theoretically you don't need any qualifications as THFCUK says a lot's dependent on you experience. there is also a written exam.

Also during your two years as a probationary PC you will have to take regular exams on law, how to handle the public etc. if you fail those you're out.

you don't need a university degree. although a lot of police find it helps especially in law. However, i think you do need a degree if you go on the police fasttrack scheme which gives you more rapid promotion opportunities.

Ask a policeman a question and you will see why u don,t need qualifications.
