I work part time in an off licence. My contracted hours are 9, 2 hours on a wed night, 3 hours on a thurs night and 4 hours on a sat night. The shop introduced newspaper in November 2008. I have been working extra hours since then. The shift for doing the newspapers is 2 hours each morning, 7 days a week. I know that extra hours are classed as overtime and don't count towards my holiday pay. Occasionaly, someone will do a paper shift for a morning a week, and I do all the others, meaning I have to do split shifts. Since I have been doing these extra shifts on a regular basis for over a year, can I insist on this being added to my contract so that my holiday pay will increase in line with this?

of course you can... but if you assigned a contract which is those days only you are going to work then it would be useless.. but then try to ask, maybe it will realized..
