help need to know if school is closed

we can't get a signal or whatever it is for the radio to find the local radio station, and the school and council website lead to the same web page which has crashed and if you phone the school you never get through to a person.

I would advise you keep trying the school.
No-one on here will know if your school is closed, especially seeing as you haven't mentioned its name.

If you google for your local radio station eg bbc radio cambridgeshire, you should be able to listen to it through the computer.

we can't get anything like that, we can't watch an i-players or anything as our connection is rubbish.

There is a way to get through to the main recpetion but its too busy, with people trying to find out (noone in the area gets a good interent or radio connection)

i wasn't planing on going in first thing anyway as i have a doctors appointment, it isnt going much further to go to school so i'll go to doctors in uniform with some stuff i'll need today and then we'll go to the school and see if anyones there.

If i need to leave to go to doctors ect, before 9.30 i don't bother going in before.

but the snow is only patchy, hasn't covered the lawn, but the road looks slippy.

In that case I would go in. When we were at school in the seventies, we had much worse snow than this and the school was only ever closed once for one day.

My daughters school is in London and is open. When the school is going to be closed due to bad weather conditions they either telephone or text the parents at 8am and i didn't receive any message from them this morning as i was expecting to. I haven't sent her in though as in my opinion the roads and pavements are dangerous and obviously it is freezing outside.

Took my daughter to school today and its open, I'd say its just above ankle deep here too. We were advised though to "stand by the phone" incase we get called to collect them early.

Bit of a begger really, as I was hoping to get a few last minute Christmas bits, that's kyboshed now as I daren't leave the house incase the sodding phone rings.

it was open, but many of the teachers are from Norwich, which always seems to get bad snow, (apart from today) so if the roads from norwich are blocked, there isn't enough teachers that can get in to school.
