if you end up out of work for a while your cv will not look too good if there is a gap of much time between your last job and current application (whether your fault or not)

invest 25 in forming a company,

then you can say you are whatever position you choose to give yourself.... managing director, finance director, sales director / manager - as appropriate

you will be more likely to get interviews and once face to face you can come clean about your 'initiative' and at least have the chance to pitch for the job

how do you do that - tell me more?
I was made redundant as of yesterday and though I am not expecting to be unemployed for many weeks, I have carried on my Online Genealogical Research on a part-time basis, which is perfectly fine to use on any CV. I suggest there may be alot of other online opportunities that could be included on any CV, like sole-trader on eBay or even 'nline life coach', especially if you are an AB regular lol
Depending on your status you could go and do voluntary work in a charity shop. You will also get a reference so that could help.

If for arguments sake you were an accountant then you could volunteer to do the books for a local charity. The same if you are in marketing or are good at sales to try to become a fundraiser for them as well.

Not only will you be doing a small local charity good you will be keeping your cv up to date and show a future employer you are dedicated and hard working...

Having said all that........ If there are any out of work marketing, merchandising or fundraising execs out there looking to volunteer in Hampshire give me a nod :)
