Become an Electrician

Im interested in becoming an Electrician. Can anyone suggest a good course to enrol in. I am looking for one which offers both pratical and theory and great support. I have recently found a company that does this but it wants �5995 to enrol. I don't want a cheap course as I want to have the qualification at the end of it to either set up my own business or be employed, but I think �5995 is a little out of my budget. I welcome any suggestions and thank you in advance.
