A son decided that when his father could not find someone to enjoy a beer with it was time for him to step in. He didn't join his father for a pint, instead he put up a notice in the local post office advertising the job for his father's drinking partner. The job will pay around 7 an hour and all expenses will be covered. What do you think?

We don't know that the son lived in the same area, do we? However, I agree with you that it is sad that somebody has to be paid to take the old gentleman to the pub for a drink.
