can anybody tell me if people who are not american can join the american police, and if they can, how long would it take to go through all the proper channels and become a police officer?

I think youve got to be an emerican citizen before you can become an emerican cop!! therefore you will have to live there for about 6 years prior to signing up......

But why would you want to do it??????

Consider Canadian instead. As a Commonwealth nation, the process is a lot easier.
