Hi, my gf has a problem and I was hoping some people might be able to give me some advice,

She is currently 17 and still at 6th form full time, she had a part time job in a popular shoe shop and worked there for 8 months,

Now she has left she has looked back at her payslips and realised that she has been paying 20-odd pound every month in National Insurance,

I don't think it is correct, I thought you don't pay anything until you are either 18 or in a full time job, she wasn't earning huge amounts of money either.

Has anyone got any advice as to 1 whether she should be paying this and 2 what to do if she shouldn't have been!

THANKS!
