connell estate agents, halifax, loads of banks will take him on. go to connells.co.uk, and look up recruitment, and also the bank sites will guide him. Working as a mortgage broker in estate agent is fun!
From experience I'd steer clear of Estate Agents - they want blood. Working for a big lender will get your son experience of the market but only one sector of it (however if it's someone like HBoS then it's a pretty big sector.)

If he's looking for a future as a whole of market broker then an existing mortgage brokers will be a good place to start. Look at Cavendish, Alexander Hall, Chase De Vere, Cobalt Capital, Hamptons and Savills. They all regularly recruit in London.
Try Refinance UK (www.refinanceuk.com) if you are in the London area. I work there and they are on a big recruitment drive presently.

Good luck
